Who are we?
We are two committed, highly qualified and experienced mountain enthusiasts, well placed in the Scottish Highlands to deliver the best possible days out on rock, snow and ice. When you're engaging the services of a mountain professional or indeed just going climbing with someone new it's really good to know something about them and feel confident that not only are you in safe hands but also that you're going to have a nice time!
We are both members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors and up to date in current best practice and continued professional development.
My mountaineering history goes back to the 1980s and the Cuillin mountains of Skye where I grew up, since which time I've been fortunate enough to continue climbing in many other mountainous regions of the world, including a very hard expedition to Afghanistan in 2013.
At times I've done other work using similar skills as a 5th gen IRATA L3 to provide rescue and working at height expertise in the energy industry looking after technicians and field staff in remote and hazardous locations. I was a volunteer with Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team for a number of years and I hold the Mountain Instructor Certificate (MIC) and International Mountain Leader certificate (IML).
Gill, a former ski racer, is a well travelled rock climber and mountaineer. As a multi-disciplined outdoor instructor, she holds the Mountain Instructor Certificate (MIC), BASI 3 Ski Teacher Licence, BCU Level 3 Sea Kayak Coach.
Ski courses and guiding are all handled by her, additionally she delivers the Scottish Off Piste Performance courses on behalf of her sister Alison Culshaw.
