Covid-19

Access-Mountain Ltd is open for business, Understandably there is likely to still be some nervousness about travel and spreading COVID19. We are happy that the risk of transmission on our courses in an outdoor setting is very low and we will follow their guidance set out for us by the British Association of Mountain Guides and the Association of Mountaineering Instructors.

Payment for bookings must be made in full prior to fulfilment, however cancellations due to COVID-19 will result in a full refund, or if the client prefers a rebooking at a later date. All we ask is that you provide some proof that the cancellation is due to COVID-19.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) specific information

Coronavirus posed a hazard, however, SAGE evidence suggests that outdoor activities presents a much lower risk of virus transmission. Access-Mountain Ltd will base its activities on the following principals:

Lawful – Access-Mountain Ltd will stay within the guidelines set out by the Scottish Government.

Safety – We will only deliver courses when we feel we can manage and mitigate the risks to a reasonable level that are present both in the mountains, at the crags and from COVID19. This will be driven from the latest advice from the Scottish Government, the British Association of Mountain Guides and the Association of Mountaineering Instructors.

Quality – Whilst there is no doubt that professional mountaineering services will have to change in the way it is delivered, we will not deliver courses until we are happy, we can maintain the same high quality delivery we have become respected for.

Social Responsibility – There are many other elements needed for a course to run; travel, accommodation, retail etc. We will not run courses until we are happy that they will not have a detrimental effect on the local community and environment.

Clarity – All of the above will be explained and made clear to all our clients on a course by course basis.

Prior to attending a course we ask the following:

// Clients are strongly advised to take a Rapid Lateral Flow Test for COVID-19 prior to departure from home. These are freely available in pharmacies an online.

// Clients should not attend courses if they have symptoms of COVID-19, or nit they have been identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19.

// Clients should bring a face covering, hand gel, wipes and eye protection such as sun glasses, as appropriate.

// Maintain 2m separation as much as possible but also understand the lower risk of transmission outdoors.

// Contact us if you become ill within 14 days of your activity with us.
